Human ashes made into stone pebbles and keepsakes, plus engraved natural river pebble memorials

Arranging a funeral or a service for your baby or young child is not something anyone prepares for. Afterstone hopes to make that a little easier. Our Afterstones preserve their ashes in something you can hold. We also engrave natural river pebbles as memorial stones, and make sympathy gifts, slow-burning remembrance candles and the things you need to arrange a farewell.

Every stationery and remembrance piece shares the same understated aesthetic: calm and quietly beautiful, so it all works together without you having to search, match or decide everything at once in the hardest weeks and months of your life. Our digital stationery templates are fully personalisable using a free Canva account, and you can print them privately at home or through a local printer. Printed memory books, signage and notelets are ready for dispatch.

And afterwards, when you come to remember them, our engraved memorial stones can mark their final spot, or sit somewhere in the garden, or stay indoors with you. A name, date. A few words of your own. Whatever you want it to say to commemorate their life.

We also make ash-into-stone memorial pieces from a small amount of your baby's ashes: smooth stone pebbles, hearts, robins and teddy bears. Something real to hold. Somewhere for them to still be. We understand not every family has ashes. After an early loss, there may be little or nothing to work with. We can engrave stones for those families in the same way. The stone still carries their name, their memory.

Ashes sent to us are logged against a unique reference number and tracked at every stage, from shipping to arrival and their subsequent return to you, so you can ask us at any point where they are along the journey.
