Moments by Katie Mitchell Photography – Maternity, Newborn and Family Photographer, Gloucester

I'm Katie, and I photograph maternity, newborn, milestone and family sessions from my studio in Gloucester.

I've experienced infertility and loss myself. That doesn't mean I know what your experience has been like, and I'm not going to claim it does. I mention it only so you know you're not starting from scratch explaining yourself to someone who's never had to think about any of this.

So we go at your pace.

If you'd rather your photographs never appear anywhere public, that's fine – nothing goes on my website or social media without you saying yes, and you can change your mind afterwards.

And if you're dreading being in front of the camera, say so. We'll work through it together. I know how to pose and light you to get the best out of you, and I've got ways of photographing a moment beautifully even when you're not feeling photo-ready.

You won't have to work any of it out on your own. I'll guide you beforehand on what to wear and what to bring, and on the day I'll talk you through the posing, where to look, what to do with your hands. Keeping a newborn warm and settled is my job too.

I don't offer remembrance photography. I've done it in the past as a volunteer, and it isn't work I take on now, so if that's what you're looking for I'd point you to Remember My Baby. They're a registered charity, their photographers come to the hospital or hospice at short notice, and it costs nothing.

I've been photographing families since 2017, after 17 years in the Army. My studio is in Longlevens, and I work across Gloucester, Cheltenham and the Cotswolds.
