Sophie is the Foundation for Infant Loss trained practitioner in pregnancy, infant loss and infertility for the Birmingham area. She set up Stoney Meadow Psychotherapy with the aim of helping people as they navigate the significant issues across the adult lifespan: marriage and partnership, choices and circumstances surrounding having children, parenting and midlife transition.
Aside from supporting individuals, couples and families who have experienced infant loss, Sophie works with people wanting to process their childhood trauma in order to grow as a partner and a parent today. She also runs training in couples' communication and parenting teens, based on her nearly 20-year career as a secondary school teacher. In her clinical work, Sophie teaches clients psychological models and concepts from Transactional Analysis in order to empower them to make new choices in pursuit of the change they seek.
Sophie holds a Level 7 qualification in Transactional Analysis counselling and a certificate in couples' counselling. She is currently working towards her MSc in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy and a certificate in family dynamics.
