The James Foundation, a Baby Loss Charity

The James Foundation is a baby loss charity dedicated to supporting families following the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death.
Founded in memory of baby James, our charity was created from personal experience of baby loss, with the understanding that grief can be overwhelming and that families need support, understanding and somewhere they can turn to without having to explain how they feel.

We support bereaved parents and families in a number of ways, providing both practical and emotional support throughout their grief journey. We understand that everyone experiences loss differently, so our aim is to offer a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where families can access the support that is right for them.
Our work includes providing financial support towards funeral costs, helping families at a time when they may be facing unexpected expenses alongside the emotional devastation of losing their baby. We also provide opportunities for bereaved families to meet others who have experienced baby loss, creating a sense of community and connection and helping parents realise that they are not alone.

Remembrance is also a huge part of what we do. Through projects such as our Baby Memorial Tree, we give families a lasting way to honour and remember their babies. These memorials provide a special place for parents to see their baby's name, remember their life and know that their baby will never be forgotten.
We also work to support families and the wider community through initiatives such as paediatric first aid training, raising awareness of baby loss and helping to ensure that conversations around pregnancy and baby loss continue to happen.

At The James Foundation, we believe that every baby matters, no matter how short their life. We believe every baby deserves to be remembered and every bereaved parent deserves to have their grief acknowledged and supported.

Our aim is simple, to be there for families when they need us most, provide support without judgement and help make an incredibly difficult journey feel a little less lonely.
